Texas Multicore Technologies is led by a team of senior executives who possess a track record of success in management and leadership. All members of our executive team bring a unique combination of professional and entrepreneurial backgrounds from leading companies. Jim Havener, Chief Executive Officer

Jim brings demonstrated strengths in every area of management and operations to his role as Chief Executive Officer at Texas Multicore Technologies. Jim brings a wealth of experiences from a 30 year career with 3M Corporation, culminating as Business Manager/Strategic Planning and Advanced Products Marketing for the $400 million Electronic Products Division. At 3M he had P&L responsibilities, developed and implemented global strategic plans, formed and grew new 3M businesses, managed cross-functional businesses and alliances.

Following his 3M career, Jim turned his attention to early stage private companies. He co-founded, managed marketing and raised investment capital for Vital Computing; then he served as VP and General Manager of Sheldahl's Micro Products Business Group, developing and implementing strategic plans, and managing its manufacturing, sales, marketing, R&D, and corporate business development, worldwide, growing it to $40 million annual revenue. He then served as President and CEO in both growth and turnaround situations, at Zecal Technologies, Cirqon Technologies, and RVSI.

Jim received his BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska.

Lawrence Waugh, VP of R & D

Lawrence Waugh is the VP of Research and Development for Texas Multicore Compilers and is also a founding partner and COO for TMT software development partner Calavista. He is an industry leading expert in software development processes with over 20 years of experience in bringing innovative software products to market in the fastest time and with the highest degree of quality.

Prior to cofounding Calavista, Lawrence served most recently as VP of Engineering for Aviri, Director of Technical Integration and Director of Professional Services for Agillion, Director of Content for pcOrder, and Senior Technical Manager for Trilogy Software.

Lawrence received 2 BS degrees from MIT and an MS degree in Computer Science from Stanford University before beginning his career in software development and development management. He gained his industry experience at major enterprise software providers, working in both Development and Professional Services divisions.

Lawrence is a decorated former Navy pilot and Gulf War veteran.

Newton F. Hamlin, Chairman of the Board

Newt Hamlin is Chairman of the Board for Texas Multicore Technologies. In the past 35 years Newt has founded, or served as CEO or a director of companies in the software, hardware, marketing consulting, financial services, medical research, third party logistics and food products industries. He is an active angel investor, has been involved in raising more than $140 million in growth capital, and has led M&A activities for 17 companies. His value proposition includes strong leadership and management, a clear understanding of sales and marketing, recruiting access to accomplished executives in every corporate function, access to capital resources, and a network of global and local leaders and advisors from every industry.

In addition to working with TMT, Newt is currently launching other startup companies based on unique university-developed engineering IP, and is engaged in providing management, governance, fund raising and M&A services to private and public companies.

On top of his entrepreneurial accomplishments, Newt in 2003 co-founded Westlake Securities, one of the region's leading boutique investment banks.

Newt began his corporate career with Aluminum Company of America, working his way up to a senior management position at the company's Cleveland (OH) Works, its primary aerospace manufacturing facility. After a stint with Whirlpool Corporation he began a successful career as an entrepreneur, founding his first company in 1971.

Newt pursued graduate study in communications and business at Northwestern and University of Texas at Austin. Prior to his graduate studies Newt received a BA degree from Mississippi State University, where he was an honor student and active in many academic and leadership organizations. He has been a lifelong supporter of higher education initiatives, and an advisor and board member at many universities. He also has been an active supporter of community, healthcare, charitable and arts initiatives for three decades.
